Muncy to lead services at Bethel Assembly
John Muncy, founder and president of Jesus Cares Ministries, will lead a series of services at Bethel Assembly in Cape Girardeau Sunday through Wednesday. He has been in full-time evangelistic ministry for more than 30 years. Times for the services are 9 and 10:45 a.m. and 6 p.m. Sunday and 7 p.m. Monday to Wednesday. Old Fashioned Day planned at Harmony Church in Marble Hill
An Old Fashioned Day is scheduled for Sunday at Harmony Church, six miles east of Marble Hill, Mo. Festivities begin with Sunday school at 9:30 a.m., a worship service at 10:30 a.m. and lunch at noon in the Family Life Center.
Lutheran Women's Missionary League schedules fall rally
The fall rally for the Altenburg Zone of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League will be held Oct. 19 at Grace Lutheran Church in Uniontown, Mo. Registration will be from 12:30 to 1 p.m., with the rally beginning at 1 p.m. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Matthew Weiss. The topic for the rally will be "Precious Journey," focusing on Proverbs 3:5-6. An ingathering will include Portals of Prayer and other softcover religious and secular books, magazines and Bibles. All materials must be softcover. Postage stamps will also be collected for indigent inmates so they can stay in contact with their families. A light meal for a fee will be served after the rally.
Fall Missions Emphasis to feature retired military chaplain
Immanuel Lutheran Church in Perryville, Mo., will observe its quarterly Fall Missions Emphasis Weekend in all three worship services today at 5:30 p.m. today and at 7:30 and 10 a.m. Sunday. Chaplain Mark J. Schreiber will preach at the worship services and lead the Sunday Fellowship Room adult Bible class at 8:50 a.m. during which he will explain the activity of The Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod's Ministry to the Armed Forces.
Illinois church welcomes groups for gospel singing

Teen Challenge choir to sing at St. John Lutheran Church
The New Creations men's choir from Teen Challenge of Mid-America will sing at St. John Lutheran Church in Pocahontas, Mo., at 10 a.m. Sunday. The concert includes contemporary and traditional gospel music, drama and testimonials of how the choir members found their way out of drug abuse and other negative situations.
First Presbyterian Church announces supper program
First Presbyterian Church of Cape Girardeau continues its Wonderful Wednesday supper program this week. A light supper will be served at 5:45 p.m. Wednesday in the fellowship hall. The menu includes chicken casserole, green beans, slaw and dessert.
Presbyterian churches host Cuban dinner Nov. 9
Three Cape Girardeau County Presbyterian churches (Jackson First, Westminster and Cape Girardeau First) will host their fourth annual Cuban dinner Nov. 9 at Cape Girardeau First Presbyterian Church, Broadway and Lorimier Street. Proceeds from the meal will benefit an ongoing mission project to help support a sister Presbyterian church in Matanzas, Cuba. Serving time will be 11:30 a.m.
