Army Pvt. Dustin S. Welker graduated from One Station Unit Training at the U.S. Army Infantry School, Fort Benning, Columbus, Ga. Welker completed basic military training and advanced individual training. He developed combat skills, handled various weapons available to the infantry soldier, received instruction in Army protocol, map reading, tactics, basic rifle marksmanship, physical fitness, field training, first aid skills and more specialized training, including survival operations during a nuclear, biological or chemical attack. Welker is the son of Scott Welker of Bell City, Mo., and Pam Hicks of Cape Girardeau. He is a 2008 graduate of Cape Girardeau Central Senior High School.
