Nine Cape Girardeau students from Keyboards & Kindermusik Conservatory recently received Gold Cup awards from the National Federation of Junior Music Clubs at the Junior Musical festival held in February. In order to receive a Gold Cup award, students must compete for a minimum of three years while earning top ratings. A second Gold Cup consists of a minimum of six years earning the top rating. The third Gold Cup requires a minimum of nine years earning the top rating. A student can earn up to five Gold Cup awards. The students who won first Gold Cup awards were: Abigail Blunt, Matthew Blunt, Noah Branson, Stephen Jones, Bennett Kidd and Sterling Satterfield. Second Gold Cup recipients were Megan Gates and Reed Thomas. Andrea Younghouse received the third Gold Cup award. Keyboard and Kindermusik is a piano teaching studio in Cape Girardeau. The studio will host two free recital concerts at 1 and 3 p.m. May 15 at First Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau. Receptions will follow the concerts.
