The Glenn and Lee Ann Campbell School of Visual and Performing Arts Scholarship has been established through the Southeast Missouri University Foundation.
The Campbells, of Cape Girardeau, made a $10,000 gift to establish the scholarship. The gift will be matched with an additional $10,000 through the foundation's Honoring Tradition -- Inspiring Success Comprehensive Campaign.
The renewable scholarship will be awarded to a student enrolled at Southeast with a minimum 2.5 grade point average. It is talent-based, to be awarded to an outstanding new or returning student who participates in the Department of Theatre and Dance's scholarship auditions and is a declared major in the department. Financial need will be a consideration but no FAFSA form is required. Scholarship awards from the endowment will be a minimum of $1,000 each. The Department of Theatre and Dance will select the scholarship recipient.
After graduating from Notre Dame Regional High School in Cape Girardeau in 1983, Campbell attended Southeast, earning a bachelor's degree business administration with an emphasis in marketing and a minor in management. His wife is a graduate of Purdue University.
Glenn was with Foot Locker in Indiana before starting a business, Hat World, in 1995. Today the company is known as Lids.
