Although Cozmo's Coffee and Cream, at 1929 Independence St., has only been in Cape Girardeau since July 7, it has already earned a reputation as the place to go. It fits the tastes of all ages because of its comfortable surroundings and great food.
"Cosmos was originally started in an effort to replace the Baskin Robbins Ice Cream Store that closed its doors a few years ago in Cape," said owner Dr. Michael Jessup.
People missed having an ice cream place that featured lots of flavors that satisfied the tastes of almost anyone.
"We serve Gelato ice cream," Jessup said. "It is an Italian ice cream, and we have a large variety of flavors -- 48 flavors in all, to be exact."
In addition to focusing on ice cream, Cozmos has a variety of great coffees. Still not ready to stand still in food service, Cozmo's enlarged its food line by increasing their selection of foods, beverages and services. The store also began to serve breakfast items and sandwiches, too.
"Boots" Jessup, the owner's mother, soon came on board and began making cinnamon rolls as well. Michael Jessup is proud that his mom makes her own cinnamon rolls every day. She mixes them using a favorite recipe she has used for years.
A drive-through window also makes the business more convenient for customers.
When someone describes the good flavor of Cozmo's coffees, the proof is in the cup. It takes a reputable and tasty brand to produce great coffee. Cozmo's has met that challenge because it is gold-cup certified from Ronnoco Coffee Co. They have the rich full-bodied flavor that people are looking for.
Cozmo's Coffee and Cream is a one-of-a-kind operation. When it comes to customer service, they can't be beat in how they treat their customers. From the moment you walk in the door or drive through to the window, the staff is unsurpassed. They are friendly, warm and efficient. You don't have to wait all day to receive your order. The staff and how they treat customers are among Cozmo's biggest assets.
As it stays true to its tradition of staying ahead of the game in food and beverage service and products, Cozmo's continues to look ahead and plan for the future. They are excited about providing the deli for the new NARS call center beginning in May. The call center will be in the former Sears building at the Town Plaza Shopping Center. Aside from providing the deli, Cozmo's is within easy walking or driving distance to the new business -- making it another logical choice for dining.
