Vincentian Marian Youth to hold retreat

A Romans 8 Retreat, bringing teens together from different cultures and nationalities to grow in leadership and faith, will be held for all high-school-age teens from Feb. 29 to March 2 at Camp Trinity in New Haven, Mo. Registration forms are available from all youth ministers or from Cathy Peirick at 573-517-2212. Registration forms and money are due by Feb. 4. The event is sponsored by Vincentian Marian Youth, the Office of Youth Ministry and the St. Charles Lwanga Center.

GriefShare group meets Wednesday in Jackson

GriefShare, a Christian-based grief recovery seminar and support group for those who have lost a loved one to death, will meet at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the education building of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson. Ministerial Alliance holds Week of Prayer

The Jackson Ministerial Alliance is sponsoring the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity, now in its 16th year of celebration in Jackson. Each morning, beginning at 7 p.m. Monday, participants will gather in the basement of First Baptist Church for a short devotion and prayer service. Area pastors including Monsignor Ed Eftink, the Revs. Luther Rhodes, Greg King, Grant Gillard and John Rice will lead devotions. Refreshments and a short time of fellowship will follow. On Jan. 27, the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity will culminate in a celebration service at Immaculate Conception Church at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Sam Roethemeyer preaching the message. The community is invited to participate. For more information, call 243-4265.

Darla McFadden to sing at Grace UMC

Christian music artist Darla McFadden will sing at the 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. worship services Jan. 27 at Grace United Methodist Church. Her most recent recording is "The God I Know," and a song from that album, "That's Not the God I Know," is being played nationally.

This week's events at First Baptist in Cape

Pastor Mike Shupert will deliver the first message in a new series on some of the miracles of Jesus; "Jesus Did What?" at 10:45 a.m. Sunday. The sermon will be "Jesus Heals a Blind Man." There will be no Bible study this Wednesday night. Dr. Ron Winstead will resume the study on the book of Luke next Wednesday, studying the conclusion of chapter 7.
