Boutique hotel to open in Columbus

COLUMBUS, Ind. -- Construction crews have broken ground on an 85-room boutique hotel that city leaders hope will anchor a downtown redevelopment project.

Hotel Indigo, part of a chain of artsy accommodations owned by InterContinental Hotels Group, is scheduled to open in 2007.

The facility will feature murals, meeting rooms, hardwood floors, spa-styled showers, wireless Internet and a bistro-style restaurant.

The hotel will be the first major piece of the community's "Vision 20/20" plan to revitalize downtown.

The Columbus location 40 miles south of Indianapolis will be the first Indiana site for the 2-year-old hotel chain.
