Local receives recognition

Morgan Lake of the John Guild chapter of NSDAR was nominated and elected state vice regent at the Missouri State Society, Daughters of the American Revolution State Conference held in Columbia, Mo. She was nominated by Shirley Young, regent, and will be installed at Continental Congress on July 1 in Washington, D.C.

Call achieves advanced certification

Don Call, a Cape Girardeau School Board member, has achieved advanced certification in the Missouri School Boards' Association Certified Board Member program. The program established by MSBA helps local school board members master the knowledge and skills they need to function as effective educational leaders in their communities.

Wayne Wallingford

Wallingford receives award from Juvenile Justice

State Rep. Wayne Wallingford, R-Cape Girardeau, received an award from the Missouri Juvenile Justice Association in recognition of his record of working on issues important to juvenile justice. The award was presented at the association's awards luncheon at its May 24 Spring Educational Conference.
