Hodges, Warhol exhibit opens this month

ST. LOUIS -- The Contemporary Art Museum of St. Louis will hold an exhibition combining the work of artists Jim Hodges and Andy Warhol from Jan. 26 to April 8. Objects in the exhibition, titled "I Remember Heaven," range from large-scale mirror mosaics created by Hodges to a selection of Warhol drawings from the late 1950s. Christian rockers to play Saxony Lutheran benefit

Texas singer/songwriter Radney Foster will open for country music star Sara Evans at her Jan. 28 concert at the Show Me Center. Foster's most recent album, "The World We Live In," was released in April. Foster was one half of the duo Foster and Lloyd in the 1980s -- a group with hits like "Crazy Over You," "Sure Thing," "What Do You Want From Me This Time?" and "Fair Shake." Foster's songs have been recorded by Keith Urban, Kenny Chesney, Brooks and Dunn and Sara Evans.

Rembrandt exhibit goes on through Jan. 21

ST. LOUIS -- The St. Louis Art Museum's "Rembrandt: Master Etchings from St. Louis Collections" exhibition has been extended through Jan. 21 due to popular demand. The exhibition includes 40 of Rembrandt's etchings from public and private collections in St. Louis along with the famous "Self-Portrait" from The Hague.More than 35,000 people have toured the exhibition since its Oct. 20 opening. Brazilian guitarist to perform Jan. 28

POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. -- Brazilian guitarist David Burgess will perform on the campus of Three Rivers Community College at 3 p.m. Jan. 28 in the Tinnin Fine Arts Center. Burgess has one of the largest collections of Latin American guitar music in the United States. A former instructor at the University of Washington and the Cornish Institute of the Arts, Burgess currently resides in New York City. For more information, call (573) 840-9170.

River Nick's featuring student art contest

River Nick's restaurant, 1 N. Main St., will hold an art/photo contest for students grades 7 through 12 in February.
