Fred Bollinger, a Cape Girardeau Conservation Campus Nature Center volunteer, has been a working with the center since it opened in 2005. He helped develop the center's exhibits and is the kind of person who enjoys doing whatever is needed, regardless of the task.

A master flintknapper, Bollinger has earned the nickname, "Arrowhead Fred." His demonstrations at the Nature Center include creating arrowheads, spear points and bow drill bits.

Bollinger also answers visitor questions, ties hooks on children's fishing poles, prepares crafts and monitors the purple martin birdhouses.

He works to help people discover the connection between themselves and the resources they depend on.
