Sara Evans has been honored by the Academy of Country Music as its top female artist, chosen as one of "People" magazine's most beautiful people, gotten her groove on for "Dancing with the Stars," and she's weathering a messy, public divorce. Now she's coming to Cape Girardeau.

The Missouri native and singer of hits like "Suds in the Bucket" will appear at the Show Me Center on Sunday with opening act Radney Foster. Evans wasn't available for a phone interview, but answered four questions via e-mail for the Southeast Missourian.

~Q: How do you balance being a mom and being a country star? What do your children do while you're out on the road?

A: It's actually a lot easier than you would think. I'm a great multitasker! When we are on the road, we have a certain schedule, and we have a certain schedule for home. Avery takes his school work on the bus and turns it in when we get back. The best thing for all of us is to be together as much as possible, that's why they travel with me.

~Q: Do you think the media and the fans are too nosy about the private lives of celebrities?

A: I think we are all guilty of being nosy, myself included!

~Q: Being that you're from Missouri, is it special to come back and play shows in your home state?

A: Absolutely! It's a great chance for me to see lots of friends and family all at one time. I'm very proud to be a Missourian.

~Q: Your bio says you're really opinionated when it comes to music. What's good and what's not?

A: I guess I just have to really be moved by a song emotionally. It has to be really sad, or really insightful, or really dramatic, or really witty. And the singer has to be able to deliver the right kind of emotion for the lyrics.
