St. Patrick's Day Pub Crawl 30th Anniversary

Ten locations in downtown Cape Girardeau -- including Pour House, The Rude Dog Pub, Port Cape Girardeau and Coin-Op Cantina -- will be participating in the 30th Anniversary Pub Crawl on Saturday.

Here are a few locations featuring different specials, activities and promotions this weekend:

  • If you visit The Library, you could be the lucky winner of a $25 bar tab.
  • The first two people to end the Pub Crawl at The Bar will receive a free "Gone to the Bar" t-shirt.
  • Minglewood Brewery is announcing the winner of four Sikeston St. Patty's Beer Festival tickets Saturday at 5 p.m. Get the details on their Facebook fan page.
  • Blue Diamond Sports Bar is hosting a "Jack & Jill 8-Ball Tournament" Saturday night, for all pool players with an APA rating. More details are on their Facebook fan page.
  • Hotshots Sports Bar & Grill will have giveaways and specials Saturday evening, along with "the girls wearing something special," according to their Facebook fan page.
  • "Party Like You're Irish" at Ragsdales Pub & Lounge Saturday, 4 p.m. to midnight. The night includes a live performance by GenX and drink specials include "Irish Car Bomb," "Pot of Gold" and "Lucky Charms." The first two people to end their Pub Crawl at Ragsdales Pub & Lounge will receive a free Guinness sign.

7th Annual St. Patrick's Day Festival

Rain or shine, Historic Downtown Sikeston (Missouri) is hosting its seventh annual St. Patrick's Day Festival Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., featuring a live performance by Silver Fox, food, beer sampling, games, crafts, the Homebrew Competition, P.A.W.S. Cake Walk and a dog kissing booth.

Prizes will be awarded to those who show up dressed in their "Best St. Pat's Day Costume."

Tickets are $12 (age 21 or older), which includes a souvenir stein and beer sampling. Proceeds from the event will benefit Historic Downtown Sikeston revitalization projects.

A sham-rocking good time

Chocolate Works in downtown Cape Girardeau will host a fun event with Irish-themed activities and games for all little "lads and lassies" in Southeast Missouri on Saturday, 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Get your tickets and reserve your spot by calling (573) 803-1297.

Heartland Home and Garden Show 2018

The weekend-long exhibit at the Show Me Center in Cape Girardeau from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. each day features two levels for the home and garden enthusiast. Show-only promotions along with many giveaways are all part of this annual event presented by KFVS12.

Admission is $5 for adults; Free for children 12 years old and younger. More information can be found online at showmecenter.biz.

If you're an "outsider"

Cooking outside never has gone out of style, and Saturday's event at the Cape Girardeau Nature Center from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. will test your skills against the elements by learning how to cook on a fire using tin foil. You must be at least 12 years old to participate and registration information can be found online at huntfish.mdc.mo.gov.
