A rare collection of antique toys dating from the 1850s to 1900s is on display at Cape River Heritage Museum. The collection includes several wind-up toys and a World War I toy biplane.

The exhibit shows just how much toys have changed. The traditional tin, wood and cast iron treasures of yesteryear have now been replaced primarily with plastic.

Whether you grew up in the era of the Hula-Hoop, the Cabbage Patch craze or Power Rangers, be sure to catch this one-of-a-kind exhibit.

Cape River Heritage Museum is open December 7, 8, 14, and 15 from 10:30am to 3:30pm or by appointment. The museum is located at the corner of Frederick and Independence n Cape. For more information call 334-0405 or 334-3802.
