Below is a listing of area events for lovers of all ages.

Today

  • A "Love is in the Air" Valentine's party and dance, sponsored by Schnucks, will be at 10 a.m. at the Arena Building in Cape Girardeau. The party is for couples who have been married for 50 years or more, and there is no cost to attend. There will be entertainment, refreshments, dancing and awards.
  • The KRCU Valentine's Day Party will take be from 6:30 p.m. until midnight at Isle Casino Cape Girardeau. The party includes a buffet dinner, door prizes, an open bar, live music by Shades of Soul and more. Cocktails begin at 6:30 p.m., with dinner at 7 and dancing at 8. Tickets are $50 a person, and tables of eight can be reserved in advance for $500. The event is sponsored by Isle Casino Cape Girardeau and SoutheastHEALTH.
  • At 6:30 p.m. the Oliver House in Jackson is hosting a "Sweetheart Dinner." The dinner is $75 per couple and seating is limited. For reservations, call 579-3591 or email mcmabuce@gmail.com.
  • "Love and Laughs Valentine Comedy Show" will take place at 9:30 p.m. at the Arena Building. The headliner will be Honest John and is hosted by comedian Jesse Taylor with music by DJ LNM. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door. For tickets call 636-336-6303. Doors open at 8:30 p.m.

Saturday

  • The Humane Society of Southeast Missouri is hosting its "My Furry Valentine Adoption Event" from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at West Park Mall. The event will have adoptable animals from the Humane Society, a doggy kissing booth, a Valentine's treats bake sale, giveaways and more. Many animals will be available for a $14 adoption fee. The event will be in the Macy's courtyard inside the mall.
  • The Bollinger County Museum of Natural History is providing fun for the family with its "Dinosaur Valentine Match Hunt" from noon to 4:30 p.m. at the museum, 207 Mayfield Drive in Marble Hill, Missouri. Families can build in their Lego rooms, participate in the Dinosaur Valentine Match Hunt challenge to win a prize or relax in the play and discover area and enjoy the Valentine's Day crafts and activity sheets provided. The museum will be open from noon to 4:30 p.m., and the Lego building room will be open from 12:30 to 4 p.m. Children 14 and younger must be accompanied by an adult.   • A maple sugaring event will be from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Cape Girardeau Conservation Nature Center. Learn about the history, equipment used and the process of making maple syrup. No registration is required, and the event is free to all ages.
  • A Mardi Gras Party will take place from 1 to 5 p.m. at Hunter Valley Winery in Cape Girardeau. The winery will offer Cajun food and beads. Call 332-0879 for more information.
  • The Ste. Genevieve Chocolate Walk will take place. Take a stroll through the shops in the downtown historic district, where more than 20 participating locations will offer a chocolate treat. Many participating merchants will have in-store specials as well. The event is sponsored by the Ste. Genevieve Downtown Renewal Program. Tickets for the Chocolate Walk are $10 each and may be bought at the Ste. Genevieve Welcome Center the day of the event.
  • A Valentine dinner and dance will be from 6 p.m. to midnight at the Cape Girardeau Eagles No. 3775, 321 N. Spring St. Cost is $15 for a steak dinner, $12 for chicken and $5 for the dance only. The event is open to all adults, but guests must call in advance for the meal at 335-0931.
  • "Valentine's at the Plaza" will be from 6 to 11 p.m. at Ray's Banquet Center in Cape Girardeau. Advance tickets are $40 for singles and $75 for couples, or $50 for singles and $100 for couples at the door. Dinner will be served from 6:30 to 8 p.m., and a cash bar will be available. Door prizes will be given away, and music will be provided by DJ Sky Jammer. Photographs will be available for purchase by Cheekwood Studio.   • Route du Vin (Romancing the Grape) will be Saturday and Sunday. Visit six wineries in the Ste. Genevieve area and try a wine and food pairing at each one. You can visit all six wineries in one day or make it a two-day event and spend the night in an area bed-and-breakfast. Tickets are $25 a person, plus tax, and can be purchased at visitstegen.com or on the day of the event at the Ste. Genevieve Winery.
  • A Valentine's dinner and dance will be from 6 to 11 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Scott City. It is $110 a couple and includes dinner, drinks, dancing and a chance to win up to $3,000. For tickets, call 573-264-4512.
  • The Cape Girardeau Roller Girls and the Kohlfeld Scorpions will hold the 2015 Swagger Stagger Pub Crawl from 9 p.m. to midnight. The event will start and end at Hotshots in Cape Girardeau. Other bars on the crawl are Minglewood Brewery, The Library, Mixing 10, Rude Dog Pub, Lodo and That One Bar. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Special Olympics Missouri. Tickets can be purchased in advance at Hotshots or from any roller girl. The price is $8 for a wristband and $14 for a limited edition T-shirt as well as the wristband.
  • For their Family Days at the Museum at the Rosemary Berkel and Harry L. Crisp II Museum the museum is hosting a Civil War times event introducing the life and times of soldiers and their families in period fashion, camp displays, firearms, a tea party, river squadron and fort facts, The event takes place from 1 to 4 p.m. and includes a trivia challenge and hands-on activities.

Sunday

  • Experience Mardi Gras at Magnolia Manor in Cairo, Illinois. It will be open from 1 to 5 p.m. with a live band, authentic Cajun food, champagne and a sweets table. The cost is $25 a person; call 618-734-0201 for reservations.
  • Route du Vin (Romancing the Grape) continues.
