The winner of the annual Cowles Poetry Book Prize from Southeast Missouri State University, Angie Macri of Hot Springs, Arkansas, will read from her work -- "Underwater Panther" -- at 7 p.m. Wednesday in room 125 of Crisp Hall. The Southern Illinois native's poetry explores places and people living along the Mississippi River, both historical and mythical.
