1. T-Bone Walker- "Mean Old World" T-Bone has always been one of my favorite inspirations for both guitar and vocals. Sophisticated and innovative jazz/blues style that is still very popular and influential today. What a lot of people may not know about T-Bone also is that he was a tremendous performer who invented such stage antics as playing behind the head and doing the splits!...

2. Magic Sam -- "All Your Love"

This tune is a great representation of the "west side" Chicago blues style which I've always loved.

3. Luiz Bonfa -- "A Day in the Life of a Fool"

Beautiful and haunting minor melody that turned me on to Bossa Nova music and one my favorite composers of all time ... Antonio Carlos Jobim.

4. Chet Baker -- "I Remember You"

I love Chet Baker, both his singing and playing have so much style that I could have chosen any song by him. I chose this one because it was the first standard I learned on guitar.

5. Hound Dog Taylor -- "Gimme Back my Wig"

Fun, raucous, house-rockin' party music. Nothing fancy here, just pure enthusiasm. Hound Dog was an introduction to slide guitar music that I love, and to the fact that you don't have to have a PhD from the Berkley School of music to really say something.
