By Jason Parker, Mix 104.7 Afternoon Personality
I have now, seen evil. I have seen the destruction and pain that hate can cause. But I will not be tricked into hating Arab-Americans because of the actions of a few. If we start to believe that all people in our country who come from other nations are terrorists, then we will become no better than those who really did this.
Think of others in history, people who persecuted the innocent because of color or creed. Who comes to mind? Do you want to be like that? Remember that hate is truly a cycle.
I will not be made afraid to be American. I will hold my hand over my heart to honor the national anthem. I will not give in to terror by changing my daily routine. My spirit is stronger than any act of lucidity against my country. My heart is filled with enough compassion and love to last an eternity. Love me or hate me, you cannot break me; you will not break me, for I am an American.
My patriotism runs deeper than anyone's lust for destruction, and that can be said for most of us. As far as the person(s) responsible for this, all I have to say to them is that the good Lord above will have his day, but we get you first.
Love me or hate me, you cannot break me; you will not break me, for I am an American.
To the innocent, May God Bless You and Yours.
