NEW YORK -- After years of rumors, there are plans for a new "Ghostbusters," and it will be led by a female cast.
"Bridesmaids" filmmaker Paul Feig said he will direct a reboot of the ghost-fighting comedy starring, as he said on Twitter, "hilarious women." Feig will direct the film for Sony.
A sequel was developed that would have reunited Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis, with Ivan Reitman directing. But that never got off the ground.
Melissa McCarthy likely would be a good bet in the cast. Feig has made three films with her.
