Three stars (out of four)
This was absolutely a brilliant movie.
"V for Vendetta" begins as Evey (Natalie Portman), a British citizen, breaks a city-wide curfew and finds herself being accosted by low-level government enforcers. As they begin to impose their authority, she is rescued by "V," an articulate and well-spoken modern day revolutionary.
Her masked hero soon invites her to tag along as he orchestrates a musical percussion on a prominent government symbol. Evey is implicated as an accomplice as the hunt for "V" begins.
This film contains strong political overtures that run rampant throughout the movie, often paralleling events of today's political headlines. Each person will take away something different from this movie. While the middle of "V for Vendetta" moved rather slowly, it was alluring to watch. I would certainly go see this movie again.

Four stars (out of four)
This movie was definitely different. It kept you on the edge of your seat with your eyes glued to the screen.
It is a combination of several film ideas. I would say the main character, "V", reminds me of Zorro. He sets off in one of the first scenes rescuing a damsel in distress and, similar to Zorro, he wears a mask.
The storyline is based on that old struggle between good and evil. Most of the evil has to do with the political corruption in the government officials. A lot of the evil also dates back to many years before and the character "V" spends all his time trying to get justice for past mistakes and also get the present corruption stopped. Some scenes remind us of the Holocaust.
I would not recommend this to everyone. It is a deep film and also contains a lot of violence and bloodshed.

This movie was definitely worth seeing.
It dealt with the old story of good trying to overcome evil. The main characters do an excellent job playing their parts. It shows how political corruption knows no time frame.
Part of "V's" vendetta is against what happened long ago and part of it is against corruption that still goes on today. He spends the whole movie tracking down and settling old scores. He shows flashbacks showing scenes similar to the Holocaust to let you know some of the past he is trying to make right.
It has a lot of violence and gory scenes that would be inappropriate for little kids. Kids my age who like fast-moving, action-packed films with a lot of blood and guts scenes will definitely like this flick.
