My friend and I had been to the old Burrito-ville and decided to try out the bigger version of the restaurant, newly built in the plaza right across from Towers, on Sprigg. It's very convenient, especially for college students, I personally like it better than the original location on Broadway. You can also get a table to eat at a little easier, and it's not so hard to find a place to park. There is something on the menu for everybody, tacos, burritos, quesadillas, nachos, hamburgers, french fries, etc. When you're ordering your food, you can see the guys behind the counter, what they're cooking and how they're cooking it. It's nothing fancy at all. All very shiny stainless steel, clean white walls and a few Mexican-inspired decorations. You have a choice of a bar & stools along the wall or one of the few booths. The guys (yes, they're all guys) bring your food out to you in little plastic baskets. The silverware, of course, is your very convenient plastic forks and knives. On this particular day I decided to order a "rice burrito" with everything but onions & jalapenos. When my burrito, with a side of salsa, arrived at my table, I couldn't believe my eyes. It was huge! This burrito was almost square it was so big. When you first try to eat this thing, you look at it from all angles trying to figure out where to start and you finally just hold the burrito with your plastic fork and try to saw off a hunk with your plastic knife in a plastic basket, with a little piece of wax paper in the bottom. No way are you going to be able to pick it up and eat it. But once I found a technique with my knife, I really started enjoying the food. The lettuce and tomatoes tasted really fresh and I really liked the seasoned rice. I couldn't even come close to finishing the whole thing, we probably could have split one. The price wasn't too bad either, a massive burrito and a soda, for $5.25. I would not say that Burrito-ville is an authentic Mexican restaurant, but the food is pretty good, especially for a casual lunch. The interior is kind of bland and they only have one unisex bathroom. Even though the guys were really nice, I will probably get my meal to go the next time, so I can eat it on a plate with a real fork and a glass of sweet tea.
