Stapleton to play hometown concert

PAINTSVILLE, Ky. -- Grammy-winning country singer Chris Stapleton is returning to his hometown in eastern Kentucky to play a free concert for students and teachers. A news release said Stapleton will give a performance in the gymnasium at Johnson Central High School in Paintsville today. Stapleton will perform twice in Paintsville: once at the school, then in a sold-out paid performance for the community.

Acts pick up ACM newcomer wins

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Grammy-winning country singer Chris Stapleton, Kelsea Ballerini and country band Old Dominion have picked up their first awards from the Academy of Country Music. Stapleton won new male artist of the year, Ballerini won new female artist of the year, and Old Dominion won new duo/group of the year for the upcoming 51st ACM Awards, to be presented April 3 in Las Vegas, it was announced Wednesday.
