Cape Girardeau's Community theatre has expanded its 2005 season! The River City Players will offer two comedies, two dramas, a musical, and a special local tales production for Old Town Cape's Libertyfest.
The season opens with Murder at the Howard Johnson's, a light and farcical comedy by Ron Clark and Sam Bobrick, involving a love triangle-a man, his wife, and her lover-at a Howard Johnson's Motor Inn.
Arlene and Mitch have concocted a ludicrous scheme to lure her unsuspecting husband, Paul, to a motel room so they can murder him and make it look like suicide, leaving Arlene free to marry Mitch. However, it is quickly made apparent that their scheme is sorely lacking in one key area -- the brains to pull it off!
Murder at the Howard Johnson's is directed by Bart Elfrink.
