The idea to write a book about the history of Old St. Vincent's Church dawned on Grace Sullivan, Ron Kirby, and LaFern Stiver back in 1999. With the fear that this story would go untold this group put pen to paper and researched every secondary source available.

The church on south Main Street in Cape Girardeau is a Catholic icon and symbol of love. Kirby says restoration began in 1977 with the help of the die-hards in the diocese and the city. He and a team of people documented with pictures.
