Tunes at Twilight presents a local act for the outdoor concert at 6:30 p.m. today at the Common Pleas Courthouse gazebo. Surtsey will make its Tunes debut. The trio plays often in Cape Girardeau and St. Louis, and will be joined by a fourth on keyboard and electric guitar. Its indie-folk brand of music provides easy listening and might even get the crowd dancing. Guitarist and singer Joseph Bassa, bassist Drew Koeppel and drummer Aaron Essner formed the band in February 2009. Their synergy and ease on stage, coupled with the maturity of their original songs, put this band above many.
