In Brenda Blue's first book, "Where are you at?", she attempts to help people who've been hurt in the most unlikely of places: church.

Blue said the book deals with "church hurt" in its 95 pages. Each chapter describes a situation in Jesus' life and how he dealt with it and then compares it to situations in church and how readers can deal with them.

She tells of situations like when a pastor told her she was not a "godly woman" like she should be.

The book was published in April by Crossbooks Publishing Co. in Indiana. Blue is from Kennett, Mo., and now lives in Holcomb, Mo.

She is a Christian author with two more books in the queue and attends Abundant Life Church in Kennett.

She will hold a book signing from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at Hastings in Cape Girardeau.
