Fusing the music of popular gospel singers with a plot based on the parable of the prodigal son, this drama explores the workaday lives of a group of churchgoers. 'In Her Shoes'

Starring Cameron Diaz, Toni Collette and Shirley MacLaine. Two sisters, one an irresponsible party girl named Maggie and the other an ambitious attorney named Rose, clash when they move in together. When Maggie refuses to get a job, Rose gives her the boot, forcing Maggie to shack up with a grandmother she never knew she had. 'Proof'

Starring Gwyneth Paltrow, Anthony Hopkins and Jake Gyllenhaal. The daughter of a brilliant mathematician has to come to terms with her father's mental illness and, eventually, his death. She's inherited his skill with numbers and begins to wonder whether she's prone to mental illness too. Helping her through the grieving process is one of the man's former students. 'Two for the Money'

Starring Al Pacino, Matthew McConaughey, Rene Russo, Armand Assante, Jeremy Piven, and Jamie King. A star college football player blows out his knee, forcing him to consider other career options. He's hired by a man who runs a big-time sports-gambling business, and soon he's on the way to the top. 'Waiting'

Starring Ryan Reynolds, Justin Long and Anna Faris. Several 20-somethings work in a chain restaurant called Shenanigan's, and while the place is seen as just a dead-end job by most of them, it at least affords plenty of opportunities to sit around talking about sex and playing food service-related practical jokes. 'Wallace and Gromit'

Starring the voices of Peter Sallis, Helena Bonham-Carter and Ralph Fiennes. In the last few days before the Giant Vegetable Competition, Wallace and Gromit are in business, running a humane pest control company to protect their town's vegetables from pesky rabbits. Their business gets confusing, however, when a mysterious beast starts destroying vegetable gardens. Lady Tottington calls on the duo to save the day by humanely capturing the beast, but will her stuck-up suitor, Victor Quartermaine, get to it first? Rated G, running time 100 minutes. '40-Year-Old Virgin'

Starring Steve Carell, Catherine Keener and Paul Rudd. Unlike most 40-year-old men, retail clerk Andy Stitzer hasn't had sex. Ever. His co-workers try to help him out, but nothing works. But then Andy meets Trish, a 40-year-old single mother of three. Andy's buddies think "it" may finally happen, until they learn that Andy and Trish's relationship is based on a firm "no sex" policy. 'Corpse Bride'

Starring the voices of Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter and Emily Watson. In this Tim Burton animated film, Victor, a villager in a small 19th-century European town, is taken to the underworld to marry a corpse bride. Surprisingly, the afterlife isn't that disagreeable, and it's a lot more exciting than his strict Victorian society. 'Cry Wolf'

Starring Julian Morris, Lindy Booth and Jared Padalecki. After a local teenager is murdered, a group of high-school students try to scare their classmates by spreading Internet rumors that a serial killer known as The Wolf is in the area. The teens have fun describing the killer's next victims, but when people actually start turning up dead, they have to figure out who's behind the gruesome attacks. 'Exorcism of Emily Rose'

Starring Laura Linney, Tom Wilkinson and Campbell Scott. After the Catholic Church officially recognizes the demonic possession of a 19-year-old college student, it dispatches a priest to perform an exorcism. But the girl dies during the procedure, and soon the priest is on trial for negligence. 'Flightplan'

Starring Jodie Foster, Peter Sarsgaard and Erika Christensen. After the unexpected death of her husband, airplane designer Kyle Pratt takes her daughter, Julia, on board a state-of-the-art 474 aircraft to fly from Berlin to New York. In the middle of the nonstop flight, Julia seemingly disappears without a trace. Kyle begins to panic when the crew, including Capt. 'A History of Violence'

Starring Viggo Mortensen, Maria Bello and Ed Harris. Tom works at a diner in a small town with his wife, Edie. After seeing him on TV, a couple of mobsters show up on the scene, pegging Tom as a guy who's wronged them in the past. 'Into the Blue'

Starring Paul Walker, Jessica Alba and Josh Brolin. In the shark-filled waters of the Bahamas, sexy skin-divers Jared and Sam discover millions of dollars' worth of sunken loot from a cargo ship. 'Oliver Twist'

Starring Ben Kingsley, Barney Clark, Leanne Rowe, Mark Strong, and Jamie Foreman. A young orphan named Oliver Twist lives in London, working under tough conditions just to survive. On the street, Oliver meets Fagin, a thief, who invites him to live with him and join a crew of pickpockets. 'Roll Bounce'

'Serenity'

Starring Nathan Fillion, Gina Torres, Alan Tudyk, Morena Baccarin, Adam Baldwin, Chiwetel Ejiofor and David Krumholtz. This big-screen version of the short-lived TV series "Firefly" is set 500 years in the future and focuses on space captain Malcolm Reynolds and his crew, who make a living with petty crime and transporting people throughout space. After they pick up their latest passengers -- a doctor and his mentally unstable, telepathic sister -- they realize that they're now being hunted by the Alliance, an out-of-control government that's out to bring the rogue sections of the galaxy under control.
