"An Inauguration," an exhibit of floral landscape paintings by Charleston, Mo., artist Glenda Manche, will be on display at the Arts Council of Southeast Missouri beginning today and continue through Oct. 25.
A retired Postal Service employee, Manche is a member of the Bootheel Regional Art Guild and has studied with Oran, Mo., painter Cleda Curtis. In 1979, she designed the 75th anniversary plate for the National Association of Postmasters National Convention.
Her show will include a painting that honors the Lewis and Clark Bicentennial.
Also on display beginning today will be paintings by Ohio artist Wendy Cross. Her exhibit, "Spirits Upon Fertile Ground," presents Midwestern images. A native New Yorker, Cross attended Ohio University in Athens, Ohio, and now lives in Columbus, Ohio.
A reception for the artists will be held from 5-8 p.m. today at the arts council, 119 Independence St. Both artists plan to attend the reception.
