River Campus to host faculty shows in Sept.

Four faculty musical acts at Southeast Missouri State University will take the stage of the Shuck Recital Hall in the Seminary Building at the River Campus. Sara Edgerton on cello and Matt Yount on piano 3 p.m. Sunday; Tyson Wunderlich on piano at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 11; Michael Dean on clarinet at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 16; and Southeast Baroque Ensemble at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 25. Fall workshops offered at the Artist Studio

The Artist Studio will host another round of fall workshops. "Pop Art Portraits" will be held at the studio at 38A N. Main St. from 6 to 9:30 p.m. Monday and Tuesday evenings through Sept. 16. Fee is $160 including most supplies. Call 651-4464 for more information.

State arts council seeks nominations for award

Nominations for the 2009 Missouri Arts Award are closing. The Missouri Arts Council will accept nominations postmarked by Monday. The award honors people who have made significant and positive contributions to the arts industry of Missouri. The council salutes people in arts education, arts organization, creative communities, individual artist, leadership in the arts and philanthropy.
