Auditions for the last show of the River City Players' season -- "First Things First" -- will take place from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at Port Cape in the Captain's Quarters. There are roles for three males and females. Joe Reed will direct the production.
Sikeston's Little Theater has announced a schedule of auditions for its upcoming production, "The Best Christmas Pageant Ever." Tryouts will be held Thursday, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., and Sept. 24 and 25, from 1:30 to 3 p.m., at the theater. There will be speaking roles for three adult men, six adult women and 16 kids aged kindergarten through high school. The production will also feature an adult choir, a youth choir and an angel choir aged kindergarten through third grade. However, the choirs are "pretend," and participants will not be required to sing. This production is scheduled for mid-November. Visit sikestonlittletheater.com for further updates.
An evening of ghost story telling -- Where the River Turns a Thousand Chilling Tales -- will be presented from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Oct. 14 at the old beech tree on the lower east lawn of the River Campus. National chilling storytellers Regina Carpenter and Gayle Ross will perform. Tickets are $10 a person and may be purchased by calling 335-1631 or by stopping by Cape Girardeau Convention and Visitors Bureau, 400 Broadway. Children younger than 12 may attend free, but must be accompanied by an adult. No more than five free children per one adult. In case of inclement weather, the event will be moved to Rose Theater on SEMO's main campus.
