Budding artists will get the chance to learn outdoor drawing and composition techniques at a workshop to be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday at the Cape Girardeau Public Library, 711 N. Clark Ave. Local art teacher Brenda Seyer will be the instructor for the class, which is open to children ages 9 to 12. Registration is limited to 15. On Cue Performing Arts Center, 20 N. Main St. will offer a four-day acro dance intensive -- teaching beginning to advanced tumbling and partnering skills -- on Monday through Thursday. The one-hour sessions will be grouped ages 5 and 6 from 1 to 2 p.m.; ages 7 to 9 from 2 to 3 p.m.; ages 10 through 12 from 3 to 4 p.m.; and ages 13 through 18 from 4 to 5 p.m. The cost is $65 for the week, and boys' participation will be discounted. Each class will be taught by instructors certified in gymnastics, cheer and acro technique. Space is limited.
On Cue also will offer a "Frozen" summer arts camp from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday through July 10 at On Cue Performing Arts Center. The three-day camp will be filled with singing, dancing, acting and arts and crafts, culminating in a crowning ceremony and performance. The camp is for children 3 to 6 years old, and the cost is $65.
