The Cape Girardeau Conservation Nature Center is presenting "A Bug's Eye View of Southeast Missouri" by photographer Jenny Davenport from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays through May 31 at the center, 2289 County Park Drive in Cape Girardeau. The exhibit features small-scale nature photography and is free and open to the public.
The Cape Riverfront Market will begin its season at 8 a.m. tomorrow at 35 S. Spanish St. in Cape Girardeau. The market will run until noon, and the season will run through Oct. 29. The market features vendors who offer locally produced farm goods such as fruits, vegetables, meats and cheeses, along with other items such as baked goods, artisan crafts and more. The market also offers demonstrations, live music and entertainment for all ages. Those interested in performing or hosting a demonstration may email caperiverfrontmarket@gmail.com.
The Southeast Chamber Orchestra will perform with guest conductor Lee Richey at 3 p.m. Sunday at the River Campus, 518 S. Fountain St. in Cape Girardeau. The orchestra will perform the Bach Double Violin Concerto and other works. The Southeast District Mission Team will host The JoyLanders for a Mother's Day evening concert at 6 p.m. Sunday at Wesley United Methodist Church, 142 Carnation Lane in Jackson. A free-will offering will be accepted for mission projects. For more information, call (573) 243-5884 or (573) 275-0750.
Alma Schrader Elementary School will present "The Princess and the Pea" at 7 p.m. Thursday and May 13 at the school, 1360 Randol Ave. in Cape Girardeau. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m., and tickets will cost $5 at the door.
Old Town Cape will present the first Tunes at Twilight performance of the season, featuring The Jenny Johnson Band, at 7 p.m. May 13 at the Common Pleas Courthouse Gazebo, 44 N. Lorimier St. in Cape Girardeau. The concerts will continue every Friday night until the season finale June 17.
