Arts Council hosting ‘Haunted Images'
The Arts Council of Southeast Missouri, 32 N. Main St. in Cape Girardeau, will host a reception for the debut of a Community Wall exhibit of paranormal photography, titled "Haunted Images – Through the Lens of Tom Halstead" by the Paranormal Task Force from 5 to 9 p.m. Oct. 4. The team also will give a talk about the exhibit during a Saturday Social from 10 a.m. to noon Oct. 5. The Paranormal Task Force is a team of paranormal investigators from Arnold, Mo. The exhibit will feature real, unaltered paranormal images captured by former Task Force member Thomas Halstead.
Sinbad to perform at Peabody Opera House

Local author will sign books at gun shop
Doniphan, Mo., outdoorsman Robert Amendola, author of the recently released book "Today's Deer Hunting Handbook -- The Complete Illustrated Guide for New and Experienced Hunters," will appear Saturday at Shooters Gun Shop, 335 Christine St., to talk deer hunting and sign copies of the book. Amendola's deer-hunting presentation will begin at 1 p.m., and he will sign books from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. The book will be available for sale. "Today's Deer Hunting Handbook" was published by Acclaim Press of Sikeston, Mo.
Art Guild exhibits will be at River Campus
An Art Guild exhibition will be displayed beginning 4 p.m. Oct. 4 in the River Campus Art Gallery at Southeast Missouri State University's River Campus. An Art Guild Talk will be from 4 to 5 p.m. Oct. 4, with a reception following from 5 to 7 p.m. The exhibit will remain on display through Oct. 24. This diverse display of artwork was created by the Art Guild, Southeast's Department of Art student organization. The River Campus Art Gallery is on the first floor of the historic Seminary Building in Room 106. River Campus Art Gallery hours are from 1 to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 1 to 7 p.m. on First Fridays. All gallery exhibitions, events and talks are free to the public.
