Jackson native Nick Murphy will screen two of his feature films, with no admission, at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 4 at Port Cape Girardeau. The first film, "Will's Big Day," is rated R. The second, "What Comes Next?" is rated PG-13. For more information, call Port Cape at 334-0954.

'High School Musical' coming to Fox Theatre

Drivin' Rain plays New Year's Eve gig

Cape Girardeau-based hard rock band Drivin' Rain will play a New Year's Eve party at Schock's Pub in Scott City, with opening band 8 Years. The show will be one of Drivin' Rain's first local shows since the addition of guitarists Michael Stewart and Jason Depro.

Thomas, Royal to play at Executive Inn

PADUCAH, Ky. -- B.J. Thomas and Billy Joe Royal will perform a New Year's Eve show at 9 p.m. Dec. 31 at the Executive Inn Riverfront in Paducah. Tickets start at $38. Thomas has sold more than 70 million records since his start in 1968. Royal had his first big hit with his 1965 smash "Down in the Boondocks." The two perform their own hits and duets. St. Louis celebrates New Year with arts
