ST. LOUIS, Mo. -- The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis will present an ensemble of young actors for four performances of "Heidi," a classic childhood tale. The performances are at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturday, at 11 a.m. Monday and at 11 a.m. Thursday. The play, based on the story by Johanna Spyri, will be performed only at the Browning Mainstage at the Loretto-Hilton Center for the Performing Arts, 130 Edgar Road. Area musicians will be playing Sunday to help give back to the community. As part of the Christmas Hoot, the musicians will be playing to collect donations. The money raised will go to the children at the Cottonwood Treatment Center in Cape Girardeau. Participating clubs include Breakaway's, Broussard's, Buckner's Brewing Co., River City Yacht Club and The Camp. Music starts at 8 p.m. Bob Camp, an event organizer, said, "We have put together an evening where there is something for everyone." Breakaway's, Broussard's and The Yacht Club each have four bands participating in the evening. Buckner's will host an evening of Christmas music with many special guests. There will also be an "all-ages room" for the younger crowds and musicians presented by The Camp. Bands include Stella Blue, Drivin' Rain, Anam Cara and Ninth Life at Breakaway's; Sykes and Hooker, Catatonic, Inkognito and Elixer at Broussard's; Mike Renick, The Waterstreet Band, Lost Possum and The Dirty 30s at River City Yacht Club and International Playboy House of Pancakes Blues Band with special guests at Buckner's. The Camp will feature musicians beginning at 3 p.m. Bands include Last Man Fighting, Echelon, Beauty Is The Machine, Yellowment, One Eyed Aliens, Broken Hearts Academy, Driven to Her Death and Fists of Phoenix.
Buckner Brewing Co. will offer an afternoon of acoustic holiday music from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday. The Traveling Acoustic open mic welcomes amateur and professional musicians alike. For information, contact Jerry Swan at 270-5114.

KRCU 90.9 FM will begin ariing holiday specials, both sacred and secular, during the coming days. "This is always an exciting time of year and our holiday broadcasts will definitely add to the excitement," said Dan Woods, general manager. The programs to air range from classical concerts to radio drama. The feature programs will be mixed with the station's regular selection of music and locally-produced programs. Some of the programs to air include "A Candlelight Christmas," "Christmas with the Philadelphia Singers," "Robert Page Holiday Favorites," "Music of the Baroque Christmas Special," "The Downtown Messiah 2004," and "Jazz at the Lincoln Center Holiday Stomp."
