Rhymer's to host Festivus party

Rhymer's on the Plaza, 10 S. Plaza Way, is putting on a "Seinfeld"-inspired holiday event. The venue has organized a Festivus for the Rest of Us party at 6 p.m. Dec. 22, inspired by the alternative holiday celebration imagined by the character Frank Costanza. There will be a Festivus pole, the airing of grievances and the feats of strength. Ugly Christmas sweaters and "Seinfeld" attire are encouraged.

Holiday, candlelight tours at Glenn House

The historic Glenn House in downtown Cape Girardeau will host holiday tours from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 22 and 23, and Dec. 27 to 29. Every room of the Victorian home is decorated for Christmas and refreshments and entertainment follow the tour in the carriage house. The house will also host candlelight tours from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday. Tickets are available for the candlelight tour at the Cape Girardeau Convention and Visitors Bureau.
