Nutcracker tickets still available from KRCU

KRCU is selling tickets to the Moscow Ballet's "Great Russian Nutcracker." Tickets are $68 and $48 and proceeds benefit the station. The station is also offering premium tickets for $125, which include a pre-performance cocktail party and meet and greet with dancers, silent auction and dessert hors d' oeuvres. Call KRCU at 651-5070. The "Great Russian Nutcracker" will be peformed at 7:30 p.m. Monday at Bedell Performance Hall.

'Annie' will be at River Campus on Tuesday

Tickets are still available for the one-night showing of "Annie." The show celebrates its 30th anniversary with this tour. The red-headed orphan and all her friends in the hard-knock life will be on stage at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in Bedell Performance Hall. Tickets are $44 and $38 and available at the River Campus box office, 651-2265, MetroTix outlets or metrotix.com, keyword "Annie."

Drummers perform holiday show

The Southeast Missouri State University Percussion Ensemble will again present a free holiday concert geared toward families with young children. The percussion ensemble will play popular holiday songs while a slide show from classic Christmas stories like Frosty the Snowman and Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer shows behind them. The concert starts at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Bedell Performance Hall.

Arts council wants to paint the town

The Arts Council of Southeast Missouri is inviting artists to apply for its Downtown Art Windows Program. The program will partner artists with vacant downtown storefront windows they can use to display their work in February and March. Interested artists can complete an application and send images of their work by Tuesday for a review panel who will approve and match them with a window. There is a $20 application fee. *** Show Me Center gets Raw in January

RAW Live, presented by WWE, will be at the Show Me Center in January. The current match line up pits John Cena against Big Show in a no-disqualification match. Also schecduled to appear are Randy Orton, Kofi Kingston, MVP, Legacy, Santino Marella and others. Show starts at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 22. Tickets are $60, $40, $30, $22 and $15, subject to fees, go on sale 10 a.m. Dec. 19 and are available at Show Me Center box office, Ticket Master outlets, by calling 651-5000 and showmecenter.biz.

*** Globetrotters travel back to Cape

The Harlem Globetrotters will bounce back into Southeast Missouri with a March 24 performance at the Show Me Center. The Globetrotters, who last appeared in Cape Girardeau in March, will bring old and new tricks for new fans and faithful. Tickets are $27 to $60 and go on sale at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Show Me Center box office, Ticket Master outlets, by calling 651-5000 and showmecenter.biz.

*** Speaker set for Martin Luther King Jr. Dinner

Christopher Gardner will deliver the keynote address at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration Dinner in January. Gardner, who now owns Gardner Rich LLC, was the inspiration for the movie "The Pursuit of Happyness" and will speak about overcoming challenges in life. Tickets for the dinner are $15 and availble now at the Show Me Center box office or by contacting Elizabeth Maldonado at 651-2524 or emaldonado@semo.edu. The dinner will be at 6 p.m. Jan. 20 in the Show Me Center.
