Shuck Recital Hall will transform into a movie theater of sorts when the award-winning film by Victory Film Production is shown in a free screening. "Fire Lily," which won Best Feature Film, Best Cinematography and Best Actress in a Feature Film at the American Artist Film Festival, will be screened at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 21 in the Shuck Recital Hall.

Local film screening at Rose Theatre

The latest film from Southeast Missouri film company Cinema Girardeau will be screened at the Rose Theatre on Southeast Missouri State University campus in December. The free showing of "Dark Road" will start at 7 p.m. Dec. 7. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. The showing is free and involves a question and answer opportunity afterward. Makers of "Dark Road" do not recommend it for children because of the violence and strong language in the film, which tells the story of a small-town sheriff who is called to a murder and uncovers a mob connection in his own town.
