TV show to film comedy event this weekend

Christmas Arts and Crafts Extravaganza packed

The Christmas Arts and Crafts Extravaganza, presented by the Arts Council of Southeast Missouri, will be held Nov. 19 and 20 at the Show Me Center and the Osage Community Centre. Booth space for the fair has been filled with 300 regional crafters. Times for the event are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Nov. 19 and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 20. For more information, call 334-9233.

Museum looking for fence pictures, stories

MURPHYSBORO, Ill. -- The Gen. John A. Logan Museum in Murphysboro is seeking submissions from local residents of pictures and stories involving fences, to accompany the Smithsonian's traveling exhibition "Between Fences," appearing at the museum Dec. 27 through Feb. 3. Admission is free. Local photographs and stories should be submitted by Dec. 5. For more information, call the museum at (618) 684-3455.

Students read their works at University Center

The Journey Student Reading series will continue Monday from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday at the University Room in Southeast Missouri State University's University Center. Jazz ensembles to perform in concert Nov. 18

The Southeast Missouri State University Jazz Ensemble and Studio Jazz Band will perform at 8 p.m. Nov. 18 in the University Center Ballroom on the university campus. This annual fall concert will feature both university ensembles playing tunes by composers such as Count Basie, Quincy Jones and Bill Byers. For more information, call 651-2265.

'Sundays at Three' kicks off Nov. 20

The first concert of the "Sundays at Three" chamber music series will take place at 3 p.m. Nov. 20 at Old St. Vincent's Church. The concert will feature The Kingsbury Ensemble, one of the Midwest's premier early music groups, performing Baroque-era tunes on period instruments. For more information, call 651-2265.

Symphony presents 'Mozart in America'

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- The Southern Illinois Symphony Orchestra will perform a concert titled "Mozart in America," mixing both the work of Mozart and American composers, Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. The concert is the third in a series celebrating the composer's 250th birthday. Market House auditions for 'Tons of Money'

PADUCAH, Ky. -- Open auditions for the Market House Theatre's production of the play "Tons of Money" will take place Nov. 14 and 15 at 7 p.m. Four men and six women are needed for the play. Performance dates are Jan. 26 to 29 and Feb. 2 to 5. For more information, call (270) 444-6828.
