Museum celebrates German-American month
@SL_body_copy_ragged:In recognition of German-American month, the Crisp Museum will host a German-American Family Day from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday. and a German-themed dinner and lecture from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Oct. 28. Family Day will feature displays about some well known German Americans, German foods, a puppet show and activities for children. Dr. Dieter Jedan, professor of German and chairman of the Department of Foreign Languages and Anthropology at Southeast Missouri State University, will be the speaker at the dinner-lecture. Registration is required by Oct. 23 with a $16 per plate contribution to the Crisp Museum. Those wishing to only attend the free lecture will be admitted at 7:30 p.m. Both the dinner and lecture will be in the Glenn Convocation Center at the Southeast Missouri State University River Campus. Oak Ridge Boys come to Show Me Center
@SL_body_copy_ragged:The Oak Ridge Boys will bring their holiday tour to the Show Me Center in December. The Oak Ridge Boys Christmas Celebration 2008 Tour will feature some of the Boys' favorite tunes like "Elvira" and "Bobbie Sue" and add touches of the Yuletide season with "I'll Be Home For Christmas" and "Hark! The Herald Angels Sing." The concert starts at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 8. Tickets are available at the Show Me Center ticket office, all Ticketmaster outlets, charge by phone at 573-651-5000 and online at www.showmecenter.biz.
