Maximum size is 48-by-48 inches, including frame or stand. Maximum weight is 75 pounds. Guidelines may be found at www.CapeArts.org, under the Visual Arts tab. Southeast Missouri State University art professor Caroline Kahler is the juror for the exhibit. Cash awards will be given for the Best of Show piece and four Juror's Awards to be designated by the juror.
Artist trading card workshops set
Black Door Gallery, 123 S. Spanish, St., will be hosting artist trading card workshops in January. The workshops are scheduled every Saturday in January, from 1-4 p.m. For $10, participants will receive nine artist trading cards with a sleeve, and will have access to all the workshops. Materials will be provided. Artists can work on the cards at the workshops and/or take them home to work on them. Completed cards will be displayed at the Black Door Gallery and will be eligible to trade at First Friday Receptions. For more information, contact Craig Thomas at 225-7734.
RCP to hold auditions
River City Players will host auditions from 2-4 p.m. on Jan. 27 at Port Cape Girardeau for "Retro Radio," a re-enactment of a 1930s radio show. Since the show is based on "The Shadow Radio Show," there are many parts available, including jingle singers. Those wanting to sing jingles should choose a song from the ‘30s and be prepared to sing their song at auditions. "Retro Radio" will be directed by Tana Howard.
