Art Slam! focuses on 'Art of Brick' exhibit

The Crisp Museum at Southeast Missouri State University's River Campus will present Art Slam! on Nathan Sawaya's exhibition, "Art of the Brick," on Tuesday. Art Slam! begins at 6 p.m. and features Benjie Heu, associate professor of art; Stephanie Lynch, public relations manager for Hoffman Lewis of St. Louis; and Dr. Melissa Odegard, assistant professor of educational leadership and counseling. The three-person debate/performance will be centered on the Sawaya exhibition, and audience members are encouraged to participate. Sawaya, a New York-based artist, created several works specifically for the Southeast exhibit, which features more than 30 works using close to one million colorful standard Lego pieces. The exhibit will remain on display through Feb. 20.
