Eureka to host bluegrass festival

EUREKA, Mo. -- The 12th annual Gene Roberts Memorial Bluegrass Festival will be held March 16 and 17 at Holiday Inn Six Flags at Eureka. The first evening's activities will include a youth talent contest, with separate contests for banjo, fiddle and other talents. The following day bluegrass shows are scheduled to start at 10:30 a.m., 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. Bands scheduled to perform are The Harpers, The Harmans and Open Range. Ballet explores impact of Alzheimer's disease

"A Life Unhappening," a spoken-word ballet exploring the impact of Alzheimer's on three generations of one woman's family, will be presented at 2:30 p.m. May 13 at the Bedell Performance Hall at Southeast Missouri State University's River Campus. Tickets are available at RiverCampusEvents.com, or by calling 800-735-2966. Proceeds will benefit the St. Louis Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association.
