Jerry and Terri Whalen of Peculiar, Mo., and Alisa Heydon of Steamboat Springs, Colo., announce the engagement of their daughter, Allyson Ann Whalen, to Charlie Lindberg, both of Cape Girardeau. He is the son of Chuck and Deb Lindberg of Greenville, Mo.

Whalen is pursuing a degree in elementary education at Southeast Missouri State University. She is employed at Steak n Shake.
