Wallis received a bachelor of science degree in psychology from Truman State University at Kirksville, Mo. She is an IT technical recruiter with Sykes Enterprises.

Sides received a bachelor of science degree from the University of Kansas, and a medical degree from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine. He is chief medical resident at St. Louis University Hospital.

A March 2 wedding is planned in St. Louis.
