Schwartz - Scherer

Joe and Yvonne Schwartz Jr. of Scott City announce the engagement of their daughter, Julie Kay Schwartz, to Darren Joseph Scherer, both of Cape Girardeau. He is the son of Gary and Bonnie Scherer of Cape Girardeau.

Schwartz received an associate degree in applied sciences/physical therapist assistant from Sanford-Brown College, a massage therapy degree from A Gathering Place, and is a certified reflexologist from The Stone Institute. She is owner of Solace Massage and Reflexology in Jackson, is a physical therapist assistant at Saint Francis Medical Center, and is an independent consultant with Usana Health Sciences.

Scherer received an associate degree in automotive and Diesel technology from UTI, and is a Mercedes-Benz elite certified technician. He is an architectural molding technician with Acorn Enterprises.

A Nov. 29 wedding is planned at St. Augustine Church in Kelso, Mo.
