Schoenberger - Doty

Brenda Schoenberger of Cape Girardeau announces the engagement of her daughter, Liesl Elizabeth Schoenberger, to Karl Wayne Doty, both of Boston, Massachusetts. He is the son of Daniel and Jeanne Doty of Moose Lake, Minn. Liesl is also the daughter of the late Dr. John Schoenberger.

Liesl received a bachelor of music degree in 2006 and master of music degree in 2008 from Indiana University; artist diploma in 2010 from Yale University; and doctor of musical arts candidate in 2015 at New England Conservatory. She is an adjunct instructor of violin, viola and chamber music at the University of New Hampshire, and is a violinist with the Boston-based chamber orchestra "A Far Cry."

Karl received a bachelor of music degree in 2007 and master of music degree in 2009 from New England Conservatory. He is a bassist with the Boston-based chamber orchestra, and appears regularly with Orpheus Chamber Orchestra in New York City and St. Paul Chamber Orchestra in St. Paul, Minnesota.

An October wedding is planned at Old St. Vincent de Paul Church in Cape Girardeau.
