Phillips - Balsmann

Gregory and Deborah Phillips of Scott City announce the engagement of their daughter, Ashton Brooke Phillips, to Dane Joseph Balsmann, both of Jackson. He is the son of Keith Balsmann and Sally Balsmann of Jackson.

Ashton is a 2005 graduate of Scott City High School. She received a bachelor of arts degree in finance in 2009, and a master's degree in business administration in 2010, both from Lindenwood University. She is a mortgage loan officer with Wood and Huston Bank in Cape Girardeau.

Dane is a 2005 graduate of Notre Dame Regional High School. He received a bachelor of science degree in construction management from Southeast Missouri State University in 2010. He is a project manager with Dumey Contracting in Benton, Mo.

A Sept. 27 wedding is planned at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Kelso, Missouri.
