Mason-Aldrete

David and Linda Mason of Scott City announce the engagement of their daughter, Kara Lovia Mason of Overland Park, Kan., to Javier Francisco Aldrete. He is the son of Epigmenio and Maria Aldrete of Kansas City, Mo.

Mason is a 1997 graduate of Notre Dame High School, and received a bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 2001. She is a graphic artist at Stouse Inc.

Aldrete is a 1994 graduate of Park Hill High School, and received a bachelor of science degree in accounting from Northwest Missouri State University in 1998. He is an internal auditor at V.T. Inc.

A May 7 wedding is planned at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in New Hamburg, Mo.
