Maloney - Bess

Archie and Lucille Maloney of Zalma, Mo., announce the engagement of their daughter, Laura Jean Maloney, to Joda David Bess. He is the son of Charlotte Bess of Cape Girardeau, and the late Joda L. Bess.

Maloney is a graduate of Zalma High School, DeVry University, Southeast Missouri State University, and Oakland City University. She is a preschool teacher with Sikeston Public Schools.

Bess is a graduate of Central High School and Southeast University. He is sales manager at Bluff City Beer in Cape Girardeau.

A June 12 wedding is planned at Miramar Beach in Destin, Fla.
