Cheryl L. Farrow and Toby A. and Cindy A. Lynn of Jackson announce the engagement of their daughter, Kayla Christine Lynn, to Joshua Lance Whitworth. He is the son of Steven M. and Dana M. Abel of Jackson. Kayla is also the daughter of the late Ronald G. Farrow.

Kayla is a 2009 graduate of Jackson High School. She received an associate degree in nursing from Southeast Hospital College of Nursing and Health Sciences, and is pursuing a bachelor's degree in nursing from Southeast Missouri State University. She is a registered nurse in the Recovery Room at SoutheastHEALTH.

Joshua received a diploma from the Adult Learning Center in 2008. He is employed by Mondi.

A July 19 wedding is planned at St. Paul Lutheran Church.
